Posted: December 30, 2024 | Updated: December 30, 2024

Reddit is one of the most popular online platforms where users can discuss anything from hobbies to global events.

Unlike Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, Reddit has its uniqueness. Reddit is a strict user community with a lot of rules. So, there is less spam and more real conversation which makes it unique on the Internet.

Who is this article for?

If you are new to Reddit or if you already know about Reddit and do not know how to use it properly (you cannot post anything on Reddit because of its rules, and do not know how to get karma), this post is for you.

Let’s get started.

What is Reddit? How does it work?

Reddit is a massive online forum where users post content (Their doubts, questions, experience), share links (news, blog posts, useful tools, etc.), Images (wallpapers, 18+ photos), and videos. These posts are organized into “subreddits” - communities dedicated to particular topics like
r/AskAnAmerican/  (You can ask questions about America)
r/GameDeals (Game deals without affiliate links)
r/wallpapers ( Desktop wallpaper community)

Each subreddit has its own set of rules, the same mindset People with the same expectations (so you need to satisfy them to survive on that subreddit. Otherwise, someone will report your post to the moderator or the subreddit moderators automatically take action against your post, or auto moderator programs take action against your posts).

The Reddit home page will show the most popular Reddit posts. Mostly you post, and comment on some subreddits you have an interest in.

If you follow subreddit rules carefully, you will survive on Reddit
